There is a stretch of beach at Ft. Desoto State Park that is typically pretty deserted – especially towards the end of the day. You can stroll along listening to the surf roll in and watching the sandpipers scurry about pecking and probing for crustaceans. Saturday night, we sat down at the foot of a sand dune and watched in wonder as the bright orange ball made its final descent, bleeding into the water at the horizon. As the seagrass waved gently in the wind, the sky lit up with incredible colors that changed and deepened with each passing minute. Engulfed in such beauty, it becomes easy to see why Louis Armstrong sang, “What a wonderful world!”

If we open our eyes, and our hearts, each day brings us opportunities to connect with something beautiful; something that washes away all the struggles and fills our souls with wonder and hope. Let’s not miss them!

Have a great week, everyone!
