According to Richard Groves, author of The American Book of Living and Dying, hope is a uniquely human experience characterized by the ability to imagine something that would be life-giving, and sustain that desire with the expectation that it will come to pass.

Take just a moment and re-read that definition of hope. What incredible insight and what a critical and life-affirming capacity that we have as human beings! In these challenging days which stretch beyond what we thought were our limits, it has never been more important to nurture our hope. To engage in that defiant act of imagining something better and expecting that it will happen. Hope can show us how to build a better world. Hope can sustain us when we are feeling discouraged. Hope can enable us to be a bridge for the hopeless. Hope for our world. Hope for our community. Hope for our organization. Hope for our family. Hope for ourselves.

May we dig deep and exercise the incredible human capacity for hope!

Have a great week, everyone!
