Attention functions in our minds like water and sunlight do for plants. Whatever we pay attention to – grows. If we pay attention to our worries, our anxiety grows. If we pay attention to our resentments, then they grow. The good news is that it works the other way too! if we pay attention to what we are grateful for, then that grows as well. If we pay attention to the compassion we feel for others, THAT grows. So, when you think about it, it is pretty important what we choose to focus on and pay attention to. As gardeners of the mind, we can pull up weeds of worry and anger and cultivate beautiful blooms of gratitude and patience.

What will you grow in your garden this week?

Have a great week, everyone!
