Congratulations to our Impact Award winner, Ryan Rodriguez, PTA, physical therapist assistant for Suncoast Hospice, a member of Empath Health.
Rodriguez has been with the organization for about a year. In his role he works to keep the patient and caregiver as safe as possible while working with them to meet their goals.
“It’s very rewarding to be able to help families while they are going through such a difficult time,” says Rodriguez.
The monthly Impact Award recognizes and celebrates staff for their positive impact on others, demonstration of our values and above-and-beyond service.
Rodriguez was nominated by two colleagues who shared:
Watching Ryan serve our patients reminds me of why I wanted to serve others. Ryan is patient and kind. He displays transparency and integrity in all he does while preserving the dignity and respect for our patients to have individualized care geared towards their personal goals. Watching him interact with our families while educating them on how to remain safe within their homes is heartwarming. He actively listens to our patients and their caregivers and is able to take that information and help both achieve their goals.
Ryan embraces our core values in every aspect of care he provides to our patients as well as when he interacts with his co-workers. He is an asset to the physical therapy team. He creates such a peaceful, welcoming environment with our patients and their caregivers. He understands that our patients and caregivers are simply trying to survive a difficult time and he listens actively to their needs to create a supportive environment
Ryan has been with the organization for almost a year now. I have received multiple letters from his physical therapy colleagues as well as patients and their families. One family shared that Ryan’s thoughtfulness and prompt responses were outstanding. Another family shared that Ryan was very motivating, patient and caring. Another family shared this, “He has a very gentle demeanor, very encouraging, works with the patient well and is very patient. My mom now looks forward to his visits. He takes his time and doesn’t push her but gets her up and motivated. He gives her praise for all the little things and brightens her day. You have found a good employee and hope you do what you can to keep him.” Ryan is truly living up to our vision of providing life-changing care.
