For a millennium, humans have observed the passage of time, the cycle of the seasons, the waxing and waning of the moon, the rise and fall of the tides; and we have recognized that we too are a part of this march of time. We know that, like each year that passes, our own lives have seasons and cycles.

With 2019 behind us and 2020 stretching out before us like an open highway, it is a natural time to pause and reflect. What gifts and lessons and hardships and victories has this past year held for us? What hopes and dreams do we have for this coming year? It is through this intentional act of reflection and imagination that we become the author of our story rather than a baffled and unwitting participant. Drawing together the raw materials of our sorrows and successes, we can create something that is beautiful and uniquely our own.

May we fashion for ourselves in this coming year the lives we are meant to lead, full of joy and love.

We hope you are enjoying a Happy New Year! And don’t forget each day is another opportunity to begin again.
