Some might say that this is the age of the skeptic. Many of us have put our faith and trust in a person or institution only to be hurt and disappointed. It’s a short and easy trip from hurt and disappointed to skeptical. But there is another choice that we can make. We can choose to be optimistic. Choosing to be optimistic isn’t “burying our head in the sand” or putting on “rose-colored glasses.” It is a bold and courageous choice to affirm the possibility of a better tomorrow. Linguist and author Noam Chomsky says it like this:

“Optimism is a strategy for making a better future. Because unless you believe that the future can be better, you are unlikely to step up and take responsibility for making it so.”

May we believe in the possibility of a better future and dedicate ourselves to making it so!

Have a great week, everyone,

Jim
