When we are in the presence of profound mysteries like sickness, suffering and death, words often fail us. According to Rachel Naomi Remen, that might be a good thing!
She writes, “A loving silence often has far more power to heal and to connect than the most well-intentioned words.” When our experiences defy explanation, it is the quality of our presence rather than the cleverness of our words which is most important.
Have a great week, everyone!
