New Tidewell Hospice board member, Gary Butler

Sarasota – Tidewell Hospice, a member of Empath Health, is pleased to announce the appointment of longtime non-profit executive Gary Butler to the Tidewell Hospice Board of Trustees.

Butler joins the Tidewell board with more than 35 years of executive leadership in non-profit organizations. He currently serves as the executive director of the Military Heritage Museum in Punta Gorda. Before leading the museum, Butler was the interim executive director of the Charlotte County Family YMCA.

The majority of Butler’s career was spent with the Boy Scouts of America. He retired as chief operating officer of the Boy Scouts national office after a 25-year career with the organization. Butler earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Providence College in Providence, R.I. He is a member of the Charlotte County Tourist Development Council and treasurer of the Punta Gorda Historical Society.
