I have a space in my backyard which is marked off by bricks and filled in with river pebbles. For months now, it has been the scene of a fierce battle. A battle which, I regret to say, I am losing. No matter what I do, a stunning variety of little green weed shoots push their way up through the pebbles and threaten to reclaim this little patch of ground. I have used newspaper, vinegar, salt, and even resorted to RoundUp in an effort to eradicate these wily weeds to no avail.
There is a lesson to be learned from these weeds. What would our lives be like if we, too, pushed ourselves through one obstacle after another never wavering in our determination and dedication to reach for the sun? If we were to learn how to grow in the midst of difficult circumstances and hostile environments? We, like these perplexing and amazing weeds, would be virtually unstoppable!
Have a great week, everyone!
Jim
