I have a friend who has seen virtually every romantic comedy film that has ever been made. She says that she likes them because they’re light and funny and love wins in the end. Whether you are a fan of the Rom-Com genre or not, you have to admit that love is, in fact, what makes the world go around. It is what bonds us together as families and communities, it is what drives us to nurture our babies, be patient with our teenagers and take care of our elderly. It is what enables us to forgive and heal relationships. It is what moves us to speak out against injustice and oppression, and it is what lies at the core of the work that we do here at Empath in caring for our community.

Now, more than ever, our world needs love. American Physician Dean Ornish hits the nail on the head when he says, “Our survival depends on the healing power of love, intimacy and relationships. As individuals, as communities, as a country, as a culture. Perhaps even as a species.”

May we all do our part to leverage the incredible power of love in our circles of influence to make sure that love wins in the end!

Have a great week, everyone!
