Service, Skills and Financial Rewards

Are you at least 18 years old, available to serve for one year in Pinellas County, and interested in joining AmeriCorps members across the country this year to make a huge positive community impact?

The Legacy Corps for Veterans and Military Families (LCVMF) project is an AmeriCorps service program that offers financial rewards for spending a few hours every week with a veteran, giving their caregiver a much-needed break.

As the country’s largest nonprofit hospice and home care-based health care organization, Empath Health offers a comprehensive training program and learning opportunities throughout the year. In addition, AmeriCorps Legacy Corps volunteers – known as members – may also be eligible for:

  • On a monthly basis, a modest living allowance to offset gas or other expenses
  • At the end of the service year, a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award (approximately $1,700) that can be used to repay qualified student loans or pay for college or trade school

Since 1994, AmeriCorps members have volunteered their time and skills to serve our country and to make our communities safer, stronger, and healthier.
