I heard the story of a young man who shared his New Year’s resolutions with a close friend. His friend had to laugh when he heard the resolutions, saying “You put that same resolution on your list every year and every year you fail!” The young man smiled and responded, “Failure doesn’t result from making unsuccessful attempts to change. Failure results from no longer making the attempt to change!” How true that is. Sometimes important changes are extremely difficult to make. Even if we have tried 100 times, you never know if the 101st attempt will be the one that sticks! If we view our unsuccessful attempts to change as feedback, not failure we get closer to success with every attempt.

May we never give up on our own capacity for growth and change!

Have a great week, everyone.
