Many of us have an image in our heads of the kind of world we would like our children and grandchildren to grow up in. A world where there is justice and equity and opportunity for all. A world where no one is marginalized and made poor and “othered”. A world where our rights and freedom are protected. When we compare this image in our heads to the reality of our world today the disparity can be alarming and discouraging. This quote by Chinese inventor, author and philosopher Lin Yutang provides us with a path forward, “Hope is like a road in the country; there was never a road, but when many people walk on it, the road comes into existence.”
May the power of our combined persistent hope make a way where there was no way.
Have a great week, Everyone!
Jim
