There are times in our life when we experience an epiphany which changes our direction or opens new and previously undiscovered vistas of insight. These moments are often highlighted and celebrated in literature and movies. More often, however, any real and lasting change to our conduct or character is born not from one dramatic reveal, but from daily, painstaking, incremental labor.
From the dedication and determination to heighten our awareness to the moment by moment struggle to choose what is best in the long run over the convenience or passing pleasure of the moment. It is hard going, and sometimes it may be difficult to see our progress. But if we stick to it, our slow and deliberate work will yield a beautiful soul.
